Culturibly® Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 1, 2025
Quick summary (not a substitute for the full policy): We collect information you provide (like your name, email, shipping details, and a child’s name for book personalization), data from your use of our site (cookies, device and usage info), and from partners (e.g., analytics, payment, and fulfillment). We use it to make and deliver personalized books, run our business, provide customer support, and (with your permission where required) market to you. We do not sell your personal information. You can opt out of marketing anytime and have rights to access, delete, or correct your data.
1) Who we are and scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Culturibly, LLC ("Culturibly", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with our websites and online properties, including [www.culturibly.com] and any related pages, subdomains, or microsites (collectively, the "Site"), and any other products and services we offer online (together, the "Offerings").
This Policy applies to information we collect when you interact with us, including when you browse the Site, create an account, purchase products, subscribe to newsletters, contact us, participate in promotions, or otherwise engage with our Offerings. It does not apply to third‑party sites or services that may be linked from the Site; their practices are governed by their own policies.
If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Offerings.
Data Controller: For users in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, the data controller is Culturibly, LLC, [postal address], [United States].
Contact: admin@culturibly.com (preferred) or by mail to the address above.
2) What we collect and how we collect it
We collect information in three main ways: (A) directly from you; (B) automatically through the Site; and (C) from third parties.
A) Information you provide to us
- Identity & contact data: name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address.
- Account data: username, password, and preferences.
- Order & support data: order details, gift recipient details, messages, and customer support communications.
- Personalization data for books: child’s first name and optional details you choose to provide (e.g., dedication text). We do not require a child’s full date of birth to fulfill most orders; if you choose to provide age or birth month/year for personalization or messaging, we will process it as provided by you.
- Surveys, promotions, and content: responses, entries, and user‑generated content you submit.
- Job applicants and vendors: resume/CV, application details, company information, tax and payment details (vendors only).
B) Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect:
- Usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, cart events, time on page, referring/exit pages, search terms.
- Technical data: IP address, device identifiers, browser and OS, language, cookie identifiers, approximate location (derived from IP), and similar diagnostic data.
- Cookies and similar technologies: pixels, tags, SDKs, and local storage. See the Cookie Statement below.
C) Information from third parties
- Payments & fraud prevention: payment processors (e.g., Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple/Google Pay, Klarna, etc.) process your payment data directly; we receive limited information (e.g., transaction status) and do not store full card numbers. Please review their privacy policies.
- Analytics & advertising partners: aggregated or pseudonymous insights about site usage and campaign performance.
- Fulfillment & logistics partners: shipping status and delivery confirmations.
- Social & single sign‑on (if enabled): information associated with your account on those services.
You may refuse to provide certain data; however, doing so may limit your ability to use parts of the Offerings or complete purchases.
3) How we use information (purposes & legal bases)
We use personal information for the following purposes and legal bases:
- Provide and improve the Offerings (process orders, personalize books, fulfill and deliver, provide support): Contract performance and legitimate interests.
- Account creation and administration: Contract performance and legitimate interests.
- Customer communications (transactional emails, service notices, recall/safety information): Contract performance, legal obligations, and legitimate interests.
- Personalization (content, recommendations, experience): Legitimate interests and, where required, consent.
- Analytics and quality (usage analysis, debugging, security monitoring): Legitimate interests.
- Marketing (newsletters, offers, retargeting/interest‑based ads where permitted): Consent or legitimate interests (subject to your opt‑out rights).
- Fraud prevention, safety, and legal compliance: Legal obligations and legitimate interests.
- Recruiting and vendor management: Contract performance and legitimate interests.
We may combine information collected from different sources to support the above purposes.
4) Children’s information
Our products are purchased by adults. We process limited information about a child (typically a first name and optional dedication text) only to fulfill personalization. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU) without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have collected a child’s data in error, contact admin@culturibly.com and we will promptly review and delete as appropriate.
If you choose to provide additional child details (e.g., age) for personalization or messaging, you represent that you are the child’s parent/guardian or have lawful authority to provide such data.
5) How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers and processors that help us operate the Offerings (e.g., hosting, analytics, printing/fulfillment, shipping, customer support, communications, fraud prevention). These parties are contractually bound to use personal information only on our instructions.
- Payment processors that collect and process your payment information directly.
- Advertising and analytics partners (for interest‑based ads and measurement) using cookies and similar technologies; see Cookie Statement for controls.
- Business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets). Your information may be transferred as part of such a transaction consistent with this Policy.
- Legal and safety purposes (comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, property, or safety).
- With your consent or at your direction.
We may share aggregated or de‑identified data that does not identify you.
6) International data transfers
We are based in the United States and may transfer, store, and process information in the U.S. and other countries that may have data‑protection laws different from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross‑border transfers (e.g., EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses and comparable mechanisms). By using the Offerings, you acknowledge these transfers.
7) Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Offerings, comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax, accounting, and regulatory), resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Order records are generally retained for up to 7 years (or longer if legally required). We may anonymize information for research and statistics and use it indefinitely without further notice.
8) Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, least‑privilege practices). No security measures are perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe your account or interaction with us is no longer secure, contact admin@culturibly.com or admin@culturibly.com.
9) Your choices
- Marketing communications: You may opt out of promotional emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing admin@culturibly.com. Transactional emails (e.g., order confirmations) will still be sent.
